Our team in Victoria, TX shares this heart touching story of a black Lab who was adopted during their show:
We had a black lab was at the shelter for over a year; he was very timid because he came from a bad home. There was absolutely no adoption fee; he just needed a good and loving home! AND SOMEONE TOOK HIM! I was so excited, Sally, the Director of the shelter, was crying when the family asked if they could take him home!

Testimonials from from 2009's Rescues and Runways:
The Buck County SPCA was a the recent beneficiary of a Rescues & Runways event in Quakertown, PA, and all of us here were deeply touched by maurices’ generosity and by the hard work of Store Manager Erin Seitzinger and team member Gina Jordan (#1630 Quakertown, PA). As I write this, our shelter is caring for a large number of dogs recently released from years in commercial breeding grounds. Many have never been outside a cage and have never known any type of human affection. Rehabilitation for some will be a long haul, but we are committed to doing whatever it takes to start them on paths to the happy lives they deserve. It makes our work so much easier to that we are supported by organizations like maurices. On behalf of everyone here, please accept my sincere thanks for your kindness to our animals. We could not do that without people like you.

This is to thank you for your employees at the maurices store located in #0196 Warsaw, IN. Our animal shelter (Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County) benefited greatly from the efforts of Kelli Ringler (Store Manager) and her employees as we worked together to create a wonderfully creative style show involving the new fall clothing from maurices and the dogs from our shelter. Everyone who attended the show was very complimentary about the event, and we at the shelter are grateful for the public exposure we received and the donations that will help us provide for the animals in our care. We certainly hope to repeat this event next year and want to commend you at the corporate level as well as your local maurices for the enthusiasm and support on behalf of our efforts at the Animal Welfare League.

Dear friends of animals,
I’m writing to thank you and your local store for your wonderful support through the Rescues & Runways promotion. I was absolutely amazed and thrilled by how organized and genuine the program was. I want to especially commend Courtney Zellner and her team at the (#0337) Green Bay, WI store. They responded with such enthusiasm – collecting over $1500 in donated merchandise. And of course, the supply donations are weighing in every day. Courtney was a pleasure to work with, professional and enthusiastic. All of the pets who took part in the fashion show have been adopted, most of them that same day! Even beyond that, we talked nonstop to so many people before and after the show, helping them understand the needs, dispelling some myths about shelter pets, etc. It was truly one of the best outreach experiences I’ve ever had for our shelter. Our shelter cares for over 6,000 pets every year. We’re the only shelter in our city, and we serve our entire county and beyond. We are “open admission” and turn no animal away, which means we are fighting every day to raise awareness and the funds to end overpopulation and the euthanasia of these beautiful, loving animals. Your support has already made a difference and will have immeasurable impact into the future.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Bay Area Humane Society

Friends for Life members and volunteers, as well as our four-legged friends, would like to thank you for your gracious sponsorship. Not only did it help in boosting our adoption placements, but it also helped immensely in getting the word out for the great need in Western Oklahoma for a “no kill” shelter/sanctuary.
With gratitude, Western Oklahoma Friends for Life Animal Society
